Observations have been that most products, on the market today, are designed to imitate paper workflows and forms. They use web based and custom applications that are designed to run on desktop computers. The problem with most of these systems are that they do not take into account that most fleet maintenance repair shops and offices have a workforce with varied skill levels when it comes to working with computer and mobile devices and applications. Most major fleet maintenance application try to be a “one size fits all” model that forces the various departments, which have different data requirements, to use a single User Interface (UI).
CIPS Fleet Maintenance is a innovative fleet management solution that caters to fleet managers in different organizations helping them manage fleet maintenance operations. It offers a suite of application services including asset management, preventative maintenance, work order management, and inventory management.
The CIPS Fleet Maintenance solution is designed to service these (4) four areas:
Shop Floor: Traditional desktop based application are not very effective here as most workers generally do not have the skills, time or patience to do complex data entry. A Shop foreman or mechanic would work best with a mobile or kiosk based UI. Easy to use icons and buttons that quickly display and allow selection of the information they need generally works best
Back Office: Desktop application interfaces that allow extensive data entry and search along with comprehensive reporting are needed here. Predefined as well as custom reporting and printing prove to be most helpful. They also need the ability to perform full Create Read/ Update/ Delete (CRUD) functions on work orders, Vehicle histories, and parts inventory.
Parts Management: Custom interfaces that are designed for quick searches as well as inventory management are key for these workers. Integration with Shop Floor work orders are essential.
Management: Desktop, Web, and mobile Dashboard designed UIs are key for this group. They need the ability to have a broad overview of current workflows and vehicle status. This would include the ability to drill down on any vehicle to quickly see it current status as well as past work history. Interfacing with GPS vendors would provide the ability to see the location of any tagged vehicle or piece of equipment in real-time.
The solution can be deployed either on premise or in the cloud.
